Got the winter blues? Revive yourself and everybody else in the room with 'Winter Sessions' by Sneakerz MUZIK. A bundle of the best club tracks of the recent months; adding up to 4 hours of quality house music by some 50 different artists. An ideal collectors item for the winter holidays, with the latest tunes by Fake Blood, Fedde Le Grand, Laidback Luke, Sidney Samson, Bingo Players to name just a few and obviously some exclusive material by the DJ's themselves.
CD 1 by Groovenatics
Cousins Timo Romme and Yordi Corsten are better known as Groovenatics, the name reflects their passion and productions: come of age house music! Something quickly noticed by house-icon Erick E, who wasted no time to release it onto the dance floors wherever he played. Nowadays more big names in the scene have fallen for the Groovenatics house sound charms. The boys can proudly say that Erick Morillo, Dirty South, Tom Novy and the boys from the Swedish House Mafia play their tracks regularly.
"Our sound varies," Groovenatics was quoted as saying. "We have produced our fair share of more easy, calmed down tracks, but nowadays we are producing the more 'big room' tracks. To us the most important thing is that it swings. We try a lot of different things with our own productions. Our remixed are getting a distinct, recognisable sound to them too. We are very pleased with that. It lands us international support and that in turn motivates us to make even better productions!"
To carry their current success into the future, Groovenatics have committed themselves and are putting their feet down in 2010. They are working hard on some remixes and have plans for some own titles too. "We have some releases coming up. Our co-operation with Quintino on Sneakerz MUZIK will be the first. Next to that we have ongoing projects with Baggi Begovic, Shermanology and R3hab. What 2010 will bring in terms of performances is too early to say just yet, but we trust there will be a load of great gigs. We'll step into the new year with high hopes for ourselves!"
A great deal of care and attention have gone into Groovenatics' mix for 'Sneakerz MUZIK Winter Sessions'. With a clear vision they have mixed some of their own productions into it. "We've created a good build up, tracks we would normally use in our warm up sets at a Housequake event feature in the first half of the mix, nice and groovy, to set the right atmosphere; the second half has some of our more robust productions, showcasing our multi-facetted nature as DJ's and producers."
CD 2 by Carl Tricks
A refreshing newcomer to the Sneakerz MUZIK label is Rutger Carl Baumer, a.k.a. Carl Tricks. His house tracks 'Alive' and 'Get This' have secured his definitive break-through this year. He has since been asked to produce remixes that are equally energetic for other artists. Now Carl Tricks releases a constant wave of similar productions landing him some great response and support from the who's who in the world of contemporary house music. Carl: "My tracks are being played by the likes of Marco V, Sander Kleinenberg and Sander van Doorn. Bingo Players also got a lot of positive feedback when they played my tracks in Australia. A lot of US DJ's play my tracks as well."
Carl is getting more and more on-stage experience and the fact he knows how to throw a great house set shows in his mix of the second CD of 'Winter Sessions'. He would call this 'a true party CD'. "The tracks I chose all work very well in the clubs and I personally think they represent the Sneakerz sound very well. Practically all tracks are released on Sneakerz MUZIK and Spinnin' Records. My new single – Carl Tricks ft. Dadz 'N' Effect: 'On Me' – features exclusively on this CD next to some of my most recent remixes."
CD 3 by DJ Rockid
From under the wings of Sneakerz MUZIK, DJ Rockid has launched his project FOKTOP!, with an own label as a firm base. With this he plays into the upcoming sub-genre 'fidget'. It is best described as a mash-up of house, hip-hop, electro, breakbeat, garage and baile funk, with some mad swinging tracks thrown into the mix. DJ Rockid is know for his fast mixing skills and a record choice as wide as the charts on the radio. The fact that his knowledge extends into the studio is clearly advocated by the number of his own releases that feature in the mix on CD number three of the 'Sneakerz MUZIK Winter Sessions'. Only just eleven times his name appears, indicating DJ Rockid is not a guy to lounge around much!
"In my opinion this CD had to rock but still have a party vibe to it. Plus I find co-ops great, especially as my experience with hip-hop can bring something extra to the more orthodox house productions. You can tell by the many co-productions that feature on this one, like the ones with Jaimie Fanatic, Veron, Oliver Twizt, Randy Santino and some great house tracks by Sidney Samson, Laidback Luke, Boemklatsch, plus some own productions too" quoting DJ Rockid.
If it is up to DJ Rockid, 2010 can't come quick enough. Oozing with ambition he wants to get on with it and market his cross-over label FOKTOP! Records as if there was no tomorrow. DJ Rockid predicts some new developments music-wise, inviting him to co-operate with some varying artists. He also has strong aspirations to force a break through outside of The Netherlands and believes making more studio work could be instrumental to achieve this. "I want to focus on more studio work, on making it abroad and especially on FOKTOP! Records. In 2010 I might do another Sneakerz CD mix and I will start my own FOKTOP! Records club night. I think the new year holds a lot for me. There are a lot of new developments going on, styles are transforming into ever more new sub-styles. 'Let's rock' is my crede for 2010!"
Sneakerz MUZIK Winter Sessions: CD Promotion Tour
Sneakerz MUZIK has started the 'Winter Sessions CD Promotion Tour'. The creators of the cd-box (Groovenatics, Carl Tricks en DJ Rockid) together with varying MC's (Yanto, Bizzey, Dan Stezo of Mo MC) are touring The Netherlands to celebrate the release with some exclusive performances.
