Born in the Netherlands on the 3rd of November 1988, Sebastien Lintz was bound to find his way into dance music. All through his childhood, Sebastien witnessed a love for France from his mother, not knowing he would one day share a similar kind of love. After finding a Daft Punk CD in his cousin’s CD-collection, his passion for French house was born.
After returning to the Netherlands, Sebastien got inspired with DJing and started spinning records. In the meantime he would spend a lot of time at the Laidback Luke forum, gaining more interest in French house music and some of its pioneers and modern day heroes. DJ’s and producers like Laidback Luke, Sebastien Leger, Thomas Bangalter, DJ Sneak, Mark Knight and Dave Spoon started to influence Sebastien’s sound as a DJ as well as a producer. At the moment Sebastien mainly focuses on his own sound. On the creational side of music, Sebastien states: ‘I think nowadays there are a lot of producers who copy the sound of other producers. They tend to forget to make what they really like themselves.’
His first collaboration with Alex Salvador was a huge success. With support from Laidback Luke, Roger Sanchez, Afrojack, Olav Basoski and many other DJ's, their remix for Johnson Junior’s “In The Air” was a real floor filler. In the Air was licensed to two CD albums (Stealth Live! Mixed By Laidback Luke and Kontor’s compilation Funky House). For their second official remix, Sebastien Lintz and Alex Salvador worked their magic on Rock to the Beat from Josh The Funky 1. This track has a bit of a progressive edge to it, but has proven to be really effective on the dance floor. Josh: ‘I like the remix they did. Its very hypnotic and seductive.’ Sebastien isn’t sure if he is going to stick with this particular style in his productions. There is however one thing which can be said with certainty; 2009 is going to be a mind-blowing year for Sebastien! Don't just keep one eye on this guy; make sure both your ears are ready for Sebastien in 2009 as well! |
